hotsprings tiiiiiime

[Now Euri had very specific opinions on Folkvang. Namely, even though it sounded like a fun place to spend an evening, so avoided it like the plague. It was due to her albinism, of course; she was too self-conscious to visit a place that focused on beauty and the body. But she's been curious ever since she heard about it, and since that was when she first arrived that curiosity has had months to gnaw at her.

Eventually it got to be too much and she had to check the place out. But there was no way she was going alone, which is why she's dragging Vanitas along! He isn't exactly the same as a female friend, but she's more comfortable getting nervous around him.

Fortunately, she doesn't feel too nervous right now. They're in the hotsprings area, the coed section because it would be a pain to have to yell back and forth. And lucky for her, aside from them the place is completely empty. She still has a towel wrapped tightly around herself and every so often she eyes the water suspiciously (even if this is manmade there could be mermaids), but aside from that she's actually enjoying the warm water. She might even start relaxing at this rate.]

This is pretty nice, huh?

But luckily for her, Vanitas is oblivious to those thoughts as he tries to relax, a few feet away. He's mulling over his own decision to come with her, even if he'd been the one to subtly imply that they could go together since he wasn't 'attracted' to her. Which, he hadn't thought she'd actually buy into but, never say never he guessed.

He's got his own, small towel wrapped around his waist, and can't help but feel a bit self-conscious, too, with that as his only covering. Which is why he's chosen to sit on a lower rock, so his body can be submerged up to his shoulders and neck. Plus, the water does feel good, and the soft sounds of the fresh water being cycled in through little fountain mouths is soothing.]

Better than I was imagining. ['Cause after all this time, he'd never actually been in the spring, just visited the steam room once or twice.]

Mm. I know there were hotsprings back home in Dome, but I never visited any. [For obvious reasons. But this? This is pretty nice, even if she is just sitting on the edge with her legs in the water. The mermaid thing is causing her to take baby steps, but this is definitely progress.]

Were there any in the worlds you visited back home?

None that I knew of, but then again I wasn't looking.

[And he scrutinizes her position a little, out of the corner of his eye.] You know you're supposed to actually get in it, right?

[~~He'll get a nice view of her legs ;o~~ Euri deliberately glances away.]

[He doesn't understand why she's being so hesitant, when she was the one all geared up to go and find out what all of the hotspring stuff was about.]

Don't let the temperature fool you; it's not bad once you get in and warm up to it.

.... [She gives the water a tiny glance. Surely it's safe...]

... Hmph.

[With a slight blush of embarrassment she eases into it, deliberately moving close enough to Vanitas so she can grab his arm. Just in case.]

[Okay, when he said that, he hadn't entertained the idea yet that she'd actually try to hold onto him for support. So for a few seconds, he just blinks at her in confusion. Is she afraid of water?]

It's not that deep.

It's just - mermaids -- [Okay that kind of sounds ridiculous.]

- And I'm not that good at swimming.... [A slight exaggeration, she can't swim at all.]

Mermai--?[Okay no, sorry, he's cracking up a little at that. Sorry, Euri.]

No! I have a wary respect for them!

That's just another way of saying scared. What're you afraid they'll do, sing at you? Tickle you with their fins?

Haven't you heard about the things they do to people who invade their territory?? Especially guys - and Warlocks...! They're ruthless!

Ruthless? Yeah, right. If anything, they'd be too skittish to even come near us.

[She shakes her head vehemently.]

No, it's the opposite. They're fickle and if you run into one that's in a bad mood you're doomed.

[Well, he supposes there's always differences between universes.]

I guess it depends on what kind of mermaids we're talking about. I watched Ventus run around their territory in mine, and he came out fine.
