[So whatever your character was doing they are most certainly not doing it anymore, because they're suddenly finding themselves surrounding by massive moss-covered cedars and... giant mushrooms? A closer look reveals that those giant mushrooms are very real, making this whole place look like some kind of bizarro rainforest with an Alice in Wonderland twist. There are plenty of other unusual plants - ones that curl up immediately upon being touched, flowers that give off an eerie iridescent glow. The sounds of insects and chittering mammals pervade the humid, foggy air, and overhead the cawing of crows can be heard. It's beautiful and just a tiny bit unnerving.

In a nearby clearing a little white-haired girl in a blue dress (is that a pointy witch hat on the ground nearby?) is playing with a little black dog. She's throwing a stick and he's disappearing among the moss and oversized roots, and returning it with a startling quickness.

[He whirls around in shock at the scream, both hats going flying as he throws out his arms for balance but still winds up on his rear end in the thick plant life. And that, let me tell you, pisses him off.]

Of course you do. Everyone's heard of mutants. People are always fighting about what we should do with them. It's stupid, 'cause there's way less of them, but they still have superpowers.

[Superpowers? She's never heard of anyone call magic that before. And since when are humans against magic? She's pretty sure they have all kinds of dumb ways to cast it since they can't do it naturally.

[He picks up his cap and dusts it off, plunking it back on his head, then pushing up the brim so it doesn't fall over his eyes.]

[He's got to be making this up. With a huff she shakes her head and straightens up, trying to look intimidating.]

I'm not a mutant, I'm a Witch! And if you keep being mean I'm gonna curse you.

[That just earns her an outright laugh.]

You really are dumb. There's no such thing as witches! Is that why you wanted the stupid hat? [He eyes her critically.] You're too old to be playing games like that.

I'm not playing! I'm a real Witch!

[She's snapping that at him, taking several brave steps towards him.]
