In which; we contemplate the misuse of travel.
[The experiment was a perfect success! Except, no. Not at all really.
Arro looked at the latest results of opening a rend in the dimensions, and arguably this was stranger still than his own wanderings to an fro; he hadn't quite realized that it opened an actual doorway--back and forth travel. He was under the impression he'd been opening one-way holes that only would allow him to go through.
Which brought him to the girl. Cute, which was perfectly acceptable. He knelt, looking her over carefully. Undeniably curious if the rend had done this, or if she tripped into the doorway, he looked her over from head to toe. Regardless, he sighed softly; it would be quite a bit before he could open another. Still, might as well see if she understands the Low Speech or if he'll have to try Common instead.]
Ma se Sicuz, Femma?

Ma se Sicuz, Femma?

H... huh?
[It takes her a few seconds for it to really sink in. She isn't in that tavern anymore, she isn't in that town anymore, and when it does her gaze starts darting around, her expression absolutely terrified as she grips her staff tightly.]
What?? What?! What the fuck just happened?!
no subject
Well, it isn't much of a stretch for him. After all, he found Common almost always worked when he made it to wherever he wound up in his travels--It was just a bit of pride for his own culture that made him mentally balk. Still, one day he'd like to conveniently land somewhere that understood the Low Speech, better still if they understood the High Speech. Clearing his throat, he reaches and takes one of her hands calmly.]
Miss, you may be in shock, just relax and I'll explain it to you~
[He's attempting to be soothing in tone, with a smile on his face, and keeping his eye mostly closed--people tended to dislike the intensity of his gaze. As for the room, well, other than it being really nice, it's full of books! Really, books occupying a chair, almost entirely covering a table save for a spot to read, some lining a bit of a wall. It's really quite silly probably to the average person.]
no subject
Wh - who are you?! Some kind of sicko kidnapper?? I'm a bounty hunter, you know, if you try anything I'm kicking your ass!
[Because that's clearly the most rational line of thinking. What else could this be? Some kind of bizarre dream? Maybe someone slipped something into her beer... but she's sure Dog would have smelled it. He has the best nose ever, he wouldn't have missed something like that.]
no subject
[Looking very unperturbed by her threatening him, he places a hand onto the end of her staff, moving it just slightly out of his face.]
Since you speak Common well enough, why don't you tell me about what kind of bounty hunter are you? Do you specialize in humans, or non-humans?
[Unable to keep hold of his curiosity, he's already started with the questions, poor Euri will never hear the end of them, but he doesn't betray this at all. Instead he adjusts his glasses with his free hand, and finally rises until he's at his full 5'9" and somewhat thin height.]
no subject
Why's that matter? Who the fuck are you, anyway??
[She tenses a little, disliking being so much shorter than him, but trying not to show it.]
no subject
[He was being ridiculous intentionally. With a smile, he tilts his head and brings a hand to his chin, appearing to consider her question very seriously.]
Well, for now we'll just leave it at... I'm Arro Caine, at your serviceā„
[He bows and turns away from her, stepping over to his desk and that small section that's clear. He pulls out a notebook and starts writing.]
Thirsty? I have some tea I can make, though I prefer coffee, and we may be able to get something to eat, but not much...Let me see. Oh right~ I didn't ask you for your name. I'm being rude again.
[Spinning around abruptly, he clears his throat.]
What is your name, Miss?
no subject
This guy is being so cagey, maybe it'll help.]
... Euri. [No way is she giving him her last name, or her full name.]
Want to tell me what's going on? Or do I need to make you tell me?
no subject
[He smirks, adjusting his glasses.]
As for what is going on...You're my guest, though it's unintentional...
[He turns back to the desk and writes a little more, talking as he wrote.]
You see, I occasionally visit other places...but this is the first time someone else has come through instead of me...I apologize~ Now, tea?
no subject
No, no tea! Explain what the fuck you're talking about! Right now!
no subject
Dear me. So difficult, Miss Euri~
[He cuts abruptly, pacing around her now.]
I visit different dimensions. I never know where I'm going until I arrive. You came through before I could go through, now you're here until I can open another doorway... A pity, but I think we can make the best of it~
no subject
What do you mean 'make the best of it'? Can't you just open another doorway-thing? I want to go home.
no subject
It takes time to gather up enough energy~ That depends on how much Mana flows around...it might take around two to three months.
[He shouldn't mention his months are 60 days long...]
no subject
[Well, it isn't that long for a Witch, but she's already in Overreacting Mode and isn't about to leave it anytime soon.]
no subject
[He comes in close behind, placing a hand on her shoulder.]
Let's see about making you comfortable~
no subject
... You mentioned tea.
no subject
[Though, his mind was wandering, arguably like always. Now, he came around her, taking one of her hands.]
This way~ Please. What else can I do for you? I don't mind putting out a little effort for someone so pretty.
no subject
If I'm stuck here for that long I'm going to need somewhere to stay. And food. And clothes. And since this is your fault you're responsible for all that.
no subject
[Taking her on to the kitchen, he led her on to a table for her to sit while he put on the water. Returning, he sat with her, propping his chin in one hand.]
Tell me about yourself, Miss Euri~
no subject
Wh... me?
[She blinks and glances back over at him.]
You want to know more about me? What about this kitchen??
no subject
[He tilts his head now, a smile drawing onto his face.]
This is mine, I prefer the Ancient Maran style of decor~ I'm glad you enjoy it, you might like the bedroom~
no subject
Is it this impressive?
no subject
[The worst sort of joke, but he had to make it. Afterwards, he leaves to fetch the water, two cups, and the tea. Sprinkling it into the teapot, he sets it down between them.]
Though, I suppose I should ask you if you want to eat something first? We can have a little tour after if you like~
no subject
If you have any goat! Or, hmmm, chicken would be okay too.
no subject
[How long had it been? He was sure it was when he was young. After thinking on this for a few seconds, he remembers that she wanted chicken if he didn't have it.]
Ah! Of course, my apologies~ [Moving away again, he steps over to the icebox to collect some chicken to grill. He was getting hungry too, so it's a great idea to eat now. Since he has a small grill set into his stove, it doesn't take long for it to finish, and he splashes it with a hint of vinegar and oil, setting a plate in front of her while he takes his seat once more to eat.]
no subject
So when he sets the plate down in front of her she tears into the meal, barely even pausing to inhale.]
