But I just lied down...! Can't I wash later? [ Whine whine, he doesn't want to move yet. He is quite happy being all flopped like he is, thank you very much! ]

[Innocently rude. These scales aren't just for show. For a few seconds, he lets that whine fall flat... but then snorts again and closes his eye.]

Should've thought of that before you laid down.

[But the silver's not making any motion to enforce his demand. It's up to Ven.]

[ He doesn't have to enforce, really. A few more unhappy huffs and Ven's slowly lifting himself up onto his feet again to sulk over to the water. He'd never been particularly assertive, being the runt and all. Everyone else worried about dominance and he worried about having a good time.

But that also meant when he was told to do something, it was usually followed by compliance. ]

[The stronger ones make the rules. It's part of life. Besides, he could have simply chased him out. Once Ven's finally in the water, Riku pushes himself up. First time he's moved since the goldscale arrived (wow, aren't you special). At least the water's rather temperate and there's a good feeling to it. Minerals from the spring.

Leaving Ven to clean himself, roll, scratch, whatever, the older dragon slips off the large obsidian stone he's been curled up on the entire time, his motions almost serpentine despite his build. Wings tuck as he draws his tail from the water, giving it a few quivering shakes to fling the water from it.

He crosses the shore of the lagoon till he passes the area Ven'd been lying it, eying the patch of dirtied ground as he moved. A tentative snuff is all he needs to know where Ven's been in his territory. That done, he simply slams his tail down along the entire length of the "bed" and shoves the upper layer of shoreline. Sand, pebbles, and whatever Ven tracked in with him get scattered in a spray into the forest beyond. Left the shoreline area literally swept clean.]

Had fun?

Uh-huh... [ Ven croons a little at him without turning around properly to face the older drake, shaking himself out in the water and pawing at it a few times. When he does walk he'll take a few mouthfuls of it as well to sate some thirsty, before he about-faces and waddles just close enough so the shore that he can crouch down on the silt and rest on his belly.

Then he rests his chin on the edge of the water quite comfortably c: ]

[Good. He might not want to get used to it. Riku's still deciding on what he wants out of this: permitted continuation or abrupt closure. He lost little either way.]

See anything odd out there?

[Might as well make use of those eyes if they were running around his territory. He checks the shore once more and then shoves off the ground, wings flaring in full span as he crosses the lagoon in an easy glide and once again alights on the shiny black boulder.]

Like what? [ Everything is new and amazing to him, Riku. Gonna have to be more specific than that! ]

[Right. That was a stupid question. He settles on the stone, hind legs tucking as his claws find grooves to dig into and hold tight as his front legs cross in a pose similar to the one he'd taken before.]

Other dragons. [For starters.] Damage that looks like someone else's been there.

Hmmm...dunno! [ He wasn't paying attention to that or even looking for it, but at the very least he hadn't smelled any other dragons. ] I didn't smell anyone besides you. You're everywhere!

Good.

[He rests his chin back on his front paws again, dark silver claws curled against the stone in a mixture of rest and possessive.]

Why're you down here anyways?

[ ....Ven mimics him in the water C8 ]

I came from way up top--and this was below everything.

[...~~cute~~. He slips his tail back into the water and lifts his head to look down at the pool, not very interested in the goldscale for the moment.]

I know "where." I said "why."

Well...'cause it was time to leave my nest I guess. [ ~~notice him senpai~~ ]

[~~No. Too busy.~~]

Parent push you out, hm?

[And then jerk! He sweeps his tail forward in a knife-like motion, sending a wave splatting up onto the shoreline. A dark brown fish flops on the ground, struggling to get back in the water. But unfortunately for it, that's not where it's going at all.

The silver's head snaps forward like a serpent, clasping the fish between the tip of his snout, and then flips it up to catch it in his gullet and swallow.] Figures. [And settles into silence again.]
